What We're Reading
"Equity for People of Color With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities" — This special issue of Inclusion magazine focuses on strategies that can promote equity and inclusion of people of color with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). It both expands and strengthens research focused on race and contextual factors, and calls for greater attention to developing support mechanisms for those with IDD.
"How to Banish Impostor Syndrome" — This short article helps the reader recognize and banish impostor syndrome when it is present in someone's life.

Upcoming Event — Unpacking Access and Inclusion in K-12 CS Education: Inclusive Mindsets and Pedagogical Practices

If we do not explicitly work toward inclusion of students with dis/abilities in K-12 CS education, we are excluding them. In this session, the University of Florida's Maya Israel will share research findings on both barriers and pathways to inclusion and professional development resources aimed at providing K-12 CS educators with practical strategies around universal design for learning, high-leverage practices and accessibility in K-12 CS education. Cadence Scholarship Applications Are Open
Cadence has opened three scholarship applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. As part of the mission to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion, they are offering a $5,000 scholarship to students studying in a technical field in each of these groups: women in technology, Black students in technology, and Latinx students in technology. Review the application requirements and apply on the Cadence website by Monday, Oct. 10, 2022.
